It starts with butchers'paper.

The picture says it all.

Packing up glassware in boxes, yes I am on the move.

Treasured items that have been part of my life for such along time.

We all have them.  They could be gifts, a wonderful bargain we couldn't pass up.  Something passed down through the family.  Some of it rarely used, not the least bit useful for every day life, still much loved so into the removal van it goes.

Such a pleasure to unpack, to find the spot it belongs.  This nesting instinct which makes a home.  Just like the Bower Bird who gathers its little blue treasures to attract a mate, we gather our little treasures to make a home.

A good reason to start a blog, a new start, adventures, a new lifestyle.  I have been in this home for sixteen years.  Moved in with my husband, 17yr old son and 15yr old daughter in December 1998.  We moved from a country town in Queensland so the children could attend University.

I think it was because I couldn't bear the thought of my son leaving home to go to University, so we all came with him.

Time now to downsize to a two bedroom unit with my daughter, now 31.  Sadly we lost my husband and the children's father in 2008.  Son has moved to his own batchelor pad leaving a too large house, too much work , too much mowing and maintenance for a couple of gorgeous ladies who just want to have fun.

Thank you for the comments on my blog.
