A Day at the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) and the Queensland Art Gallery in Brisbane

Seeing Jane's comment on FB about the Exhibition closing at GOMA reminded me of the wonderful day we spent there recently.   I am very lucky to have a lovely group of friends who support the cultural life and the artists that come to Brisbane.  We do have some lovely exhibitions and feel very blessed.

These were from the California Design Exhibition at the Art Gallery.

So elegant.

The California Design Exhibition at The Queensland Art Gallery was just lovely.  Beautiful clothes, toys, furnishings all beautifully displayed.

This lounge room would not be out of place on The Block, it is stunning.

I would have loved to have had a sit in this chair, but it was forbidden of course.

Four lovely ladies all 62 years old and all looking great.

Cai Guo-Qiang: Falling Back to Earth at GOMA

This was pretty amazing when you walked in the door, it really blew you away, so tranquil.

This was a pretty amazing eucalypt tree, bought in in two pieces and displayed beautifully.  It shows that anything can look beautiful and anything can be art.

Wolves everywhere, so lifelike and when standing next to them, surprising how large they were.  Scary in real life I am sure.

A forest of wool in one of the smaller galleries in GOMA.

Such diversity in these galleries and there is always something special for the children with hands on activities.

  1. An amazing day, Val! I feel very proud of our GoMA. Just like you I've travelled a bit and think our GoMA compares very favourably with other galleries around the world.
